30 Days of Writing – Write Yourself Alive

1st entry – (August 1st – August 3rd, 2014) 

We are, but, in a state of perpetual motion. Every time we dig our heels, earth itself crumble away, reaffirming the maxim, “The only thing Constant is Change”.  It should not be so difficult to focus on the most elemental of task, alas, but it is! We are enslaved by our conditioning, decades of spoon-fed rhetoric of societal duties and obligations that surprisingly have less to do with civility or the Ummah and more to do with social aspirations and power politics. I can say that June 15th was the day that God tested me. My life as I knew it changed, my qiblah vanished, my goodluck charm returned to her heavenly abode, into the loving embrace of Allah (SWT) himself… Yet, I was left anchorless , moorless, adrift in a sea of confusion, and anger that sits at the brink of my eyes, full, gleaming, hot, ready to drown all at the second’s notice. My faith was tested…
